Jesus answered, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

There are so many people around Him. When Jesus saw them all together, He commanded His disciples across the lake.

Then a teacher of religion to come to Him and said, "Teacher, I want to follow you wherever you go."

Jesus said to him: "Foxes have holes and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head."

And one of his other followers said, "Sir, let me go first to bury my father."

But Jesus answered, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
