at that time Jesus came from Nazareth to Galilee, and he was baptized in the river Jordan by John. when he came out of the water, he saw the sky parting, and the spirit like a dove down to him. then a voice came from heaven: "You are the beloved son, unto you I pleased.
soon after that the spirit led him into the wilderness. in the wilderness, he lived for forty days, tempted by the devil. he was there among the wild beasts and the angels ministered to him.
