Jesus began to preach, crying out, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

when Jesus heard that John had been cast into prison, he departed into Galilee.

And leaving Nazareth, he went and dwelt in Capernaum, which is on the sea coast, in the region of Zabulun and Naphtali.

Thus it was fulfilled as had been spoken by Isaiah the prophet, who had said:

"The land of Zabulun, and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.

The people who sat in darkness have seen a great Light, and to those who sat in the land and shadow of death, Light has dawned."1 [Jesus, the light who enlightens every man who comes into the world. Jesus, the light of the world, who if man follows, will have the light of life, and will be reconciled and restored to God, who is light, to become children of the light. ]

From that time Jesus began to preach, crying out, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Now Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen.

And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."

And they immediately left their nets and followed him.

And going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them.

And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.2

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and disease among the people.

And his fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought all the sick people to him who were afflicted with many diseases and torments, and those who were possessed with demons, and those who were lunatics, and those who were paralyzed, and he healed them.

Great multitudes of people followed him; from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and from beyond the Jordan.
