And while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of man will be betrayed into the hands of men;
23 And they will kill him, and the third day he shall be raised again." And they were exceedingly sorry.
24 Now when they came to Capernaum, those who received tribute [tax] money came to Peter and said, "Does your master pay tribute?"
25 And he said, "Yes." And when he came into the house, Jesus spoke to him, saying, "What do you think, Simon, of whom do the kings of the earth take custom or tribute [taxes]; from their own children, or from strangers?"
26 And Peter said to him, "From strangers." Jesus said to him, "Then the children are exempt.
27 Despite that, for fear that we might offend them, go to the sea and cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up; and when you have opened its mouth, you will find in it a piece of money. Take the money and give it to them for me and yourself."
